Toothache
Rinse mouth vigorously with warm water to clean out debris. Use dental floss to remove trapped food. If swelling is present, apply cold compress to the outside of the cheek. Do Not use heat. Do Not place aspirin on the aching tooth or gum tissue - it can cause tissue damage. See your dentist as soon as possible.

Knocked out tooth
If the tooth is dirty, rinse it gently. DO NOT SCRUB. Gently replace the tooth and hold it in place. If the tooth does not remain in the socket, put the tooth in a container of milk or cool water. Go IMMEDIATELY (within 30 minutes) to the dentist. The dentist may be able to reattach the tooth.
Broken Tooth
Try to clean the injured area with a sterile gauze and warm water. Apply a cold compress on the cheek next to the injured tooth to reduce swelling. See your dentist as soon as possible.

Lip or tongue cut or bitten
Apply direct pressure to the bleeding area with a sterile cloth. If swelling is present, apply a cold compress. If bleeding does not stop, go immediately to the hospital emergency room.

Objects Wedged
Try to remove the object with dental floss. Remember to guide the floss in against the teeth so as not to cut the gum. Do not try to remove the object with a sharp or pointed tool. If you are unsuccessful, go to the dentist
.

Orthodontic- Braces and retainers
If a wire is causing irritation, simply cover the end of it with a small piece of wax, cotton or gauze. If a wire is embedded in the cheek, gum or tongue DO NOT attempt to remove it. See your dentist or orthodontist immediately.

Jaw - Fracture Possible
Immobilize the jaw. Place towel, tie, scarf under the chin and ties the ends on top of the head. If swelling is present, apply a cold compress. Go immediately to the nearest emergency room or call your dentist for referral to an oral surgeon.

Filling or crown lost
See your dentist for treatment. Try to find the crown, it may be able to be recemented
